This is a very off-canter type of Christmas song. It's about a father who has become of victim of the economic recession, lost his job and home, and has no money left to spend on material items or presents for his son this year. But more than anything, he wants to see him this year and spend quality time together. Family, and spending quality time with the ones you love, isn't that what Christmas is really all about? It's definitely not your typical Merry Christmas song, but it roughly defines our current situation and I'm sure people can relate to it in one way or another. At least we've included this picture of good old Frosty to lighten up the mood! Happy Holidays from Chaser.

LYRICS:
Charity, good will, peace on earth, and life in harmony
Given up for tangible things we don't need
Common state of mind in our society
Honestly, this year I can't afford anything
Son, every last dime went into my gas tank, but I had to see you this year
So sorry that I showed up empty handed with nothing but open arms here
But I know, that I am not alone. So
(Chorus)
This Christmas will be missed. Our time is much too short for the things that we don't need
God forbid we just spend two cents and time with those who do mean everything
I admit, a victim of recession, yeah I took a hit
Lost my job and my home, though I was never rich
Can't afford materials that we call gifts
and the years I've missed, Hope you understand
And it's the coldest December that I can remember, and I fear this storm will not end
But as the snow falls, I hear distant carols, and with you I take it all in
Good to know that i am not alone, still
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
So let's look on the bright side and think of the high times because things sure could be worse than this.
Though I have no offerings, at least now the storm it has ceased. And so clearly I see.
(Chorus)
No Wish list could fill this. I pray that you'll remember this year for the better
So now son, my true love, take it with you, and know that it will last forever.
